Dan joined the IPO staff in January 2004. Dan's international education experience began as a high school student in St. Louis, Missouri. Before graduating from high school, Dan already had the opportunity to participate in exchange programs to Le Mans, France and Tel Aviv, Israel. Dan then attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, majoring in French and Jewish Studies. While earning these degrees, Dan enjoyed a semester study abroad program at Tel Aviv University. Because of these experiences abroad, Dan has decided to dedicate his life to helping future students share similar experiences in international education. Prior to joining the IPO staff, Dan spent nearly four years as Academic Relations Coordinator for a large study abroad organization in Tempe, Arizona. As such, Dan traveled regularly throughout the United States to speak with students and universities about the benefits of study abroad. He is happy to bring that experience here to IPO and to help ASU students change their lives through international education exchange and study abroad. |
Amy earned a BA with Honors in English Literature and Art from Schreiner University in the beautiful Texas hill country. During that time, she studied Japanese language and culture in Nagasaki, Japan for a year, earning an Associate's degree from Nagasaki Wesleyan. After one semester back in the US, Amy decided to skip her graduation ceremony to spend her final semester studying in London and then traveling in Europe for the summer. Because one year in Japan wasn't long enough, Amy returned to Japan for three more years to teach ESL to junior high and elementary school students in the rural town of Tensui, Kumamoto. She used her time away from school to travel the Asia Pacific Region and become a certified Rescue scuba diver. After a lot of soul-searching, she postponed her dream of running a dive shop and returned to the US to start an MA in International and Intercultural Management at the School for International Training in Vermont, which included a one-year practicum as the Assistant Dean of Students at Huron University in London. In order to combine her interests in a warm climate and a great job facilitating overseas study, Amy joined the IPO in January, 2004. |
Michelle joined the IPO office in August 2006. Michelle's International experience began in high school when she was selected as a Tempe Sister Cities Delegate to Regensburg, Germany. Michelle completed her undergraduate BA degrees in English and German in 1997. She came back to ASU in 1999 as an advisor in the English department where she worked while earning an MTESL degree which she completed in 2002. Michelle is very excited about her move over to the International Programs Office and can't wait to help send ASU students overseas. |

Prior to this, he worked for two years in the Office of International Programs at Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM), in Moorhead, MN, working with students going abroad. As an undergraduate Eric studied overseas twice, spending one semester in England, and another semester on a multi-country program to the UK and Western Europe. Eric received a BA in English from MSUM in 2002, and is currently working towards an MS in Counseling and Student Affairs. He currently advises for Canada, much of Central and Eastern Europe, and most of Asia, and considers Winnipeg, Paris, Munich and Rome his favorite international cities. After her first experience abroad to Australia at the age of 16, Laura developed a love for travel and has explored much of Europe, Costa Rica, Mexico and sub-Saharan Africa. She is happy to share her experiences with ASU students and looks forward to assisting them in gaining their own experiences by exploring the world around them. |
Michael joined the IPO staff in December of 2006 as a Program Coordinator. His international educational experience began during his undergraduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa, where he spent a semester studying in Wales at the University of Swansea. It was during this experience that Michael gained an interest in the administrative side of international programs. After completing his BA degree in Communications/Electronic Media, Michael spent the next four years working in the feature film business in Minneapolis and Los Angeles. However, his interest in international education led him back to school for his Masters in Education: Student Affairs, where he also spent time in Liverpool, England and Cuzco, Peru.
