Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions incoming international students have
How can I apply to be an exchange student at ASU?
As an exchange student, can I work while at ASU?
May I apply for a social security card?
Can I get an Arizona driver's license?
What classes can I take at ASU?

You may take almost any class that is regularly available to ASU students, providing you have taken any necessary pre-requisites. Be sure to bring updated transcripts with you in order to show classes you've completed in the previous semester. You should meet with your home university advisor to determine which courses you should take while you are here. Please understand that you are not allowed to take courses in the College of Law (unless you are participating in a law exchange), the College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation, and the Master of Business Administration program. Seats are extremely limited in the College of Engineering, the School of Business, the College of Design (Architecture) and the Department of Kinesiology. Look at the ASU general course catalog keeping in mind not every class is not offered each semester: http://www.asu.edu/catalog. You can also search the Schedule of Classes for the current semester offerings: https://www.asu.edu/schedule.

Please remember that you can register through the online ASU Interactive system as soon as you receive your acceptance packet and submit your proof of MMR immunization. You may also register once you arrive on campus, but you may find that many classes are full. It is a good idea to have some alternative course choices, in case the course you want is full. All ASU students, including international exchange students, must pay registration fees of approximately $75 per semester.
